When the Book Bubble Bursts

Book Hype. Book Bubble. Whatever you may call it. You wait, wish for that day to come. It comes and it then... it just doesn't matter! That's what happened with J.R. Ward's Covet. I was so excited for it to come out-- visit with my BDB boys but... nothing. So maybe next week or a month I'll be ready to read it or want to read it. But I didn't go out and buy it or download it on my ereader.

Have you ever had that Book Bubble Burst? If so, for what book???

Hi Cindy,
Dreamfever! I was so excited when it was coming out and then nothing. Even after reading all the great reviews I have no desire to read it!! I think it might be that I listened to the first 3. Then went to download it and saw that it has a different narrator.

I'm having the same problem. I was so excited I got Covet early, but haven't been able to get into it - I finally had to put it down and start something else. I'll go back to it, but for now I can't do it.

I think the problem sometimes is that you get sooo excited. I'd have a few book bubble bursts and they suck... and the worst? The feeling is usually accurate and I end up being a bit disappointed in the book :(

Can't say that I've had the bubble burst until after I've read the book! lol

I read Covet and while parts were really good others were meh. If you read it definitely let me know what you think.

Hey Cindy;

It happened to me with the 5th Outlander book. "The Fiery Cross", so did not impress me, and I had been on an "Outlander" high until then.

So when all the hype started about the latest book I just gave it a pass by. lol

I think sometimes thee hype is just too much...

I had that happen with a couple of books. They came out when I didn't have money so I read them at the library or the bookstore. Now that I have money I still haven't bought them, even though they are the only books in those series that I don't have.

Dropping by from Designs by Barbara....I have that happen to me every now and then...I haven't read Covet yet and now that I've read so many mixed reviews on it I just might not read it at all.

Cindy, I agree with you TOTALLY!!!!!!!!!!! What a big, giant, enormous BUMMER this book was. I kept thinking if I just read it a little bit longer it would grab me and get better. I got about 130-ish pages in and just gave up. :(
