Review/Thoughts: Where to begin? Dreamfever is the 4th book in Moning’s Fever Series. If you haven’t read them, they are great. An entire world comes to life. It’s not romance, maybe it’s paranormal chick lit? I don’t know. But I like it! The latest one, as everyone who has read it, perfectly describes that it answers a few questions, but leaves SO much more and the cliffhanger ending!
SPOILERS BEGIN--- BEWARE!!
The cliffhanger ending is WORSE than Faefever, hands down. I have an awful image of where we leave Mac from this book, in Faefever we left her in a physical mess, now we know she survives thanks to Barrons, but now, emotionally you think this could be her ruin. She toughed it out since her arrival in Dublin, but now, this could be something she can’t handle or deal with.
Check out Mandi’s post on Dreamfever and jump in! Here are some thoughts I had and posted in there:
Favorite parts were a happy Barrons and where she starts to remember him and the books. Instead of letting her talk, he kisses her, they do it one more time, and then he touches her face (like from Bloodfever in the car!) it was his good bye to the “bliss” they felt.
ALSO, when Barrons asks Mac how much truth can she take, he shows her the death of the boy, was he opening up to her? Could he not help himself after their time together?
The beast! I really think that the beast is Barrons, who else could it be? Had they ever existed at the same time? Will this be a prophecy that takes place in the last book, her loving him somehow fixes Barrons and the world???
With Ryodan’s behavior in the club, how could he not be a traitor? He had to have known who the beast was and was he trying to eliminate him/Barrons?
And Dani! I think that Dani may be the daughter of Nana’s Kayleigh, since Mac carries the spear, and Dani carries the sword.
I don’t think the LM killed Alina either.
Could Christian still be missing in Shadowfever? And could this be her next series that she already has planned?
Very curious about V’Lane, the shadow, the woman “alarm”, the little boy and oh so much more. Could the Queen, dreamy eyed guy and the princess be more that what we think?
I am not happy with the way that Barrons and Mac parted at the bookstore before she met the LM. Couldn’t there have been a better moment between them????? Although, I think offering her the book store was Barron’s way of saying that loved her, needed her and was planning a future with her so she had to come back. And I think she new it because she was flabbergasted, and hadn’t processed it yet because she’s not ready to know (that she loves him) about herself yet. But after seeing him like that (if it is him), she will have to face it!
I saw that Shadowfever may be 700 pages, I want that confirmed! Next summer seems SO FAR away!

Great Review Cindy!
These Fever books by Ms. Moning sound really good. I've not caught the wave yet, but maybe sometime.
I have her Highlander books on the shelf.
Best to you!

Great review - yes, I think she left us a bigger cliffhanger this time. So many questions...
I'm going to re-read it slowly to see if I missed any clues (plus, it was just that good!).
Cindy, Im not reading this review... I am going to be reading this series eventually. I am happy that you really enjoyed it though!!
Thanks Lea! Definitely!
Thanks Patti! and YES, I'm going back and rereading parts, I just love this series. I don't know what it is, but I love it!
No problem Heather, but I really think you'll enjoy it!
Oh Barrons - what will we do with him. I loved him in part one.
That baby is someone important...
Ryodan - the evil traitor! I don't trust him one bit. Do you think he is really dead?
I love your theory on Dani and Christian!! My only question is, since Christian is part of the five, is he needed for something? Or was his purpose to help with the walls and since that is done with he is no longer needed...
Barron's has to be the beast...right? The only thing that gives me a bit of doubt is that doesn't Mac and Barrons hear something in his garage together? Or is it only when Mac is around, not Barrons. I guess there could also be something else making noises down there. Remember in Bloodfever (I think) when Mac calls Barrons and he is fighting something and a man is laughing in the background...was that foreshadowing the beast? I'm confused. Plus, when Mac talks to Ryodan on the phone in Dreamfever and she threatens to call IYD and Ryodan got really angry - why? Why would Ryodan get so upset over IYD?
This is srsly going to drive me nuts for a year. A long freaking year!!!
I left you an award on my blog:

Oh geez, every time I read a review on this book I want to bang my head against a wall. There are so many questions! I can't take it! Seriously, I couldn't believe how this book ended. I literally shook my book, trying to shake more words out! LOL. Great review!
The Fever series is my favorite Urban Fantasy series.
I can't give up on Barrons-my heart won't let me! Seriously, he has to be the hero in the end.
Christian started getting red and black tattoos on his body like Barrons. Barrons had more than what he use to...maybe Christian is turning into whatever Barrons is? Barrons is somehow more "evolved" than all the others.
I was disappointed in Ryodan's behavior as well. In earlier books we were led to believe Ryodan was a good guy but he's clearly not if IYD enraged him. But it all hinges on his opinion of Mac. Ryodan said Barrons completely believed in Mac and her abilities. Ryodan isn't convinced...
Dreamfever has a great cliffhanger ending, but I think Faefever's was much worse because Mac was in a terrible place having terrible things done to her and that I just couldn't stand. I'm definitely anxious to find out who the beast is, but it's not nearly as bad as the other ending to me.
If Christian is gone, I think Mac might step in and be the 5th Druid?
I don't think Derroc the Lord Master killed Alina either. They seemed to be really in love. Alina could have "turned dark" to help him, like he said.
There is one part in the book that really stood out for me. Barrons and Mac are discussing the Unseelie King and his concubine killing herself. Barrons says something like "turn dark for a person is considered a virtue" Strange!
Mac argues with him and he just says "Perspective, Ms. Lane."
A friend of mine has a theory that the beast is Christian and that the black magic he used trying to keep the walls up, and then the Unseelie flesh he ate might have turned him into the creature.... It would appear that he has maybe served his "purpose" in the books. She pointed out (I missed it) that both the creature and Christian have golden eyes.
